Okay, so I’m not just a sucker for geocoins. I can also be lured out for a pathtag.
The Kokanee Quest brought us to the Issaquah area, where we spent the day hunting the nine required caches to claim a nice little pathtag. It’s a neat series that aims to provide information on kokanee salmon, our local environment, and stewardship of the Lake Sammamish watershed. We had a great time learning a bit more about the area.
Thanks to the folks who sponsored the endeavor and gave geocachers a great reason to visit some cool spots: the Kokanee Work Group section of the Lake Sammamish UWRP, a consortium led by the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks (KC DNRP) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).
While out and about today, I also claimed the final of the Washington DeLorme Challenge. We actually finished qualifying for this one several weeks ago, but don’t live near enough to the final to simply zip out and get it. Very happy to notch our first DeLorme challenge!
